Firefly Music Festival Countdown Pt. IV: Grouplove and an announcement…
Yeasayer is the hot word around Firefly this morning! With Passion Pit’s unexpected resignation, the people working hard behind the Firefly Festival acted swiftly to fill the hole and pulled a rabbit it out of the hat. Yeasayer is no ordinary rabbit though. The Brooklyn-based group earned the accolade, Most Blogged Artist in the 2010 year-end report from HypeM and are set to release their third, highly-anticipated album on August 20th of this year. GROUPLOVE formed in 2010, released their debut album in 2011 and were featured Fifa ’12, Madden ’12, MLB 2K12 and an Apple commercial thereafter. The point is, this band is making moves and even if you don’t know who they are, you’ve probably heard either heard one of their songs. There is no word on the sophomore album yet, but it has only been 10 months since the release of their first album and we are likely to hear some new material at Firefly this year.
