Dispatch – “Circles Around the Sun”

Dispatch, one of the most successful independent bands ever, has released a second single off their forthcoming album Circles Around the Sun.  The album, due out on August 21st, is their first full length album release in nearly 12 years. They have released three songs so far and each one has shown a stronger rock component than in the past including much more electric guitar than their classic acoustic sound that made them a hit worldwide. If you liked their six song EP that was released back in 2011 then you are in for a treat.  The newest releases mirror many of the sounds found on the EP.

The latest release, title track “Circles Around the Sun”, tells the story of a man being sent off into space, said Chadwick Stokes (vocals/bass/guitar) during a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine. Personally, I have been a  big fan of the band’s latest releases and it has been fun to see how the members have integrated their own sounds that can be found separately in all of their side projects into a single album together. Take a listen to the new tunes below and let us know what you think of Dispatch’s more rockin’ sound.

Also, if you love these guys as much as I do, then be sure to check them out on their summer tour.  Their tour dates can be found below via the SUPPORT THE ARTIST link.  If you are in the Minneapolis area, they will be at the Orpheum Theatre on October 1st.  Cheers.
