Fang Island – “Seek It Out”
Fang Island is the peanut-butter-burger of the rock world; taking the best of two sounds and mashing them together into one delicious, distorted, ear-explosion.
The opening seconds from their latest song, “Seek It Out,” are heavy, distorted and harsh. It’s a great grungy rock-riff, that immediately captures your attention. The vocals however, are light, airy, and have a hint of that innocent-indie vibe to them, and serves as the perfect antithesis to its heavy surroundings.
Munch like the aforementioned peanut-butter-burger, it’s all about complementing each other in an unexpected way. The marrying of two unlikely elements that not only enhances the end product, but creates something entirely unique. That’s Fang Island.
