Robot Music!!
Music (n)- The art or science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. Expression of emotion, something I find extremely important whenever I listen to music. It’s something that the producers should put into their work, and the people should be able to feel while listening. So whatever type of music you listen to I hope you find emotion because that’s what makes it great.
Beginning today I have a synthtastic song. It’s a remix of “Sail Away” by The Rapture. Digitalism starts it off with a slow beautiful series of piano chords, introduces the strong vocals, and then hits you with a wave of synth that immediately shoots the mind off into space. It slowly builds using a groovy synth line but never loses that initial feeling.
On deck we have a funky reggae style track given to us by The Mavrik. “When Da Bass Goes Boom” is a great live track that has high energy and offers great high register work along with some creative vocal sampling.
In the hole we have a haunting track from Liquid Stranger. As a gift from him for reaching 100,000 fans on facebook he released “Mechanical Stuff”. It features a dark intro followed by aggressive and nasty mechanical sounding filth.
Batting clean-up we have a tune from a recent album done by the artist Noya. “Singularity” offers a very chill synth sound that eventually reaches the peak and drops like the hot potato that no one could hold. Ok, I may be really hungry right now but don’t let that take anything away from this great tune.
Lastly, I have an oldie that I just discovered while organizing the library and it’s a good one. Charlie Darker is the product of the sudden burst of EDM artists. Having been in the indie rock scene he quickly switched over to EDM in 2009. This tune “Deadroll” is fantastically produced and shows off what he can do.
Have a wonderful weekend
