Cat Power – “Ruin”
It has been over half a decade since we last heard an original track from Cat Power. For any fan of any band, that’s an eternity… but you can’t rush solid songwriting, right? Right. It may have been 6 years since Chan Marshall released her critically acclaimed album, The Greatest, but now we find out that we not only have a new song to listen to, but a new album on the horizon. Sun will be the Georgia-born singer-songwriter’s 9th studio album, with her debut having been back in 1995. Below you can listen to the first track released off the album, “Ruin”, which features a subtle latin-vibe and a bouncing piano making for a charming re-introduction to Cat Power.
