RIP Adam “MCA” Yauch

Adam Yauch, aka MCA, of The Beastie Boys has died. He was 47 years old.
The Beastie Boys represented the first hip-hop I ever truly loved. It was manic, goofy, fun and completely different than anything else out there. Here was a group of guys who had fun in every music video they made, every concert they performed, and who had been doing it since 1979. I fully expected them to be making albums well into their 90′s. It’s sad to think that we will no longer get gems like “Hey Ladies”:
Besides his monumental contributions to hip-hop, music, and the Free Tibet movement, Yauch will always be remember for being the one with “the low voice,” the filmmakers eye, and having one helluva wig-smith:
