Covers aren’t always easy to appreciate, though when you come across one that is truly fitting for the artist performing the cover and the artist being covered, it’s really a thing of beauty. I think it’s safe to say that Chromatics have found that fit with Neil Young‘s “Into The Black.” The dark, emotion filled track also serves as the opener on Chromatics recent, late March release, Kill For Love. It begin’s with the almost ominous, yet familiar guitar riff that is similar to the original and then is filled in with keys, strings and lead singer Ruth Radelet‘s echoing vocals. It’s a really fantastic rendition of a classic and I’m glad to be able to pass it along. You should probably check out the rest of the album too, just sayin’.
