Midi Matilda – “Red Light District”

I feel like the whole world has already heard about indie-pop duo, Midi Matilda. I look around the interweb and see sources as big as the Huffington Post featuring them. How did MTIB miss them? I’m not sure. It’s easy to miss a lot in the music world nowadays, but I’m not here to make excuses, because it doesn’t really matter when you hear this band. It matters that you hear them.

Midi Matilda writes infectious pop music that is comparable to Postal Service, but only in the way that almost any band that features electronic elements is, which means my comparison means just about nothing. They probably sound more like Passion Pit with a completely different vocal approach, yet at the same time they share some pop sensibilities with the likes of Vampire Weekend. Although, you might hear something entirely different. All I know is that I’m going to be keeping my eyes peeled for more music from these cats down the road.
